The UD Associate in Arts Program

Housed within the College of Arts and Sciences, the University of Delaware Associate in Arts Program (AAP) is a two-year degree program that offers UD courses, taught exclusively by UD faculty, in small classes at its Wilmington campus within the Community Education Building and at Delaware Tech campuses in Dover in Georgetown. The Delaware SEED Scholarship covers AAP tuition for eligible full-time Delaware residents. For other students, tuition is substantially lower — approximately one-third the cost of tuition at UD's main campus in Newark.

The AAP allows Delaware students to stay close to home while completing the core courses required of all UD undergrads. After earning their associate’s degree, students experience an uninterrupted transition to a bachelor’s degree program in their junior year. The majority of AAP students choose to transition to the Newark campus to complete their bachelor’s degree at UD or other institutions.

AA-ETE: Elementary Teacher Education

In partnership with the College of Education and Human Development, the AAP supports an Elementary Teacher Education (ETE) associate's degree program on its Georgetown and Wilmington campuses, which allows students to complete their Bachelor of Science in Education (BS.Ed.) degree in four years. AA-ETE students begin their education courses and field experiences in their first semester, enabling them to apply what they learn from their coursework and to begin developing their skills with children immediately.

For Future Nurses: UD/Beebe Dual Enrollment Nursing Education Program

Georgetown's dual-admissions partnership with Beebe Healthcare's Margaret H. Rollins School of Nursing in Lewes, Del., offers prospective nursing students the opportunity to simultaneously earn an associate in arts degree from UD and a diploma in professional nursing from Rollins, which is the only hospital-based nursing program in Delaware. Since its start in 2017, this educational partnership has offered a pathway for southern Delaware students to pursue RN, BSN, and MSN degrees.
