1. FACILITATOR Information

Your facilitators for this site are:

We'll send out announcements to remind you of important events. Make sure to see our announcements by setting your Canvas notifications.

2. Course Description

This Canvas course is your home base for getting started at UD. It's built to meet you where you are: whether you're teaching your first semester, diving straight into your scholarship, or both.

Instead of front-loading everything at once, the course spirals a few key topics, like building your UD network, you get a light mention early on, and a deeper home base to return to once you've settled in.

3. Learning Outcomes

By the end of this course, you'll be able to:

4. Learning Resources

No textbook required. Everything you need lives inside the course itself, or one click away from it.

5. Learning Assessment

You don't get a grade, but we do! Tell us your thoughts about the NFO Canvas site.

6. Course Calendar

There's no fixed schedule, but modules are built to roughly follow your first year's timeline:

7. Course Policy Document

Course-specific policies

Skip around freely. Modules don't need to be completed in order, and there's no penalty for coming back to something later.

UD standard course policies

This is an internal orientation resource, not a credit-bearing course, so standard academic policies (attendance, grading, academic integrity) don't apply here in the usual sense. If you're looking for UD's actual academic policies to reference for your own courses, those live in the Faculty Handbook.
